OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two people have been arrested on suspicion of keeping a teenage boy inside a locked closet for four years, Oklahoma City police said.
A security guard at a National Guard facility called police on Friday after the teen showed up, malnourished and with multiple scars and other signs of abuse.
According to a police report, the teen told police he escaped from his home in northeast Oklahoma City, where he said he had been kept for 4½ years.
The 14-year-old boy, who lives in the 3500 block of Northeast Military Circle, told authorities that he often went days without food. He said he was beaten frequently and, at least on one occasion, stabbed with a knife and burned.
LaRhonda McCall, 37, and Steve Hamilton, 38, were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on 20 counts each of child abuse and child neglect.
They are being held on $400,000 bond.
